On Friday 10 and Saturday 11 June 2022, the Psy*Co*Re network is organising Frontiers in Psycho-Therapy 2022 (FPT22), an event focused on exploring the issues related to psychedelic-assisted therapy in Italy and in Europe.
Resuming and expanding on the format devised last year, this edition will feature 28 Italian and international speakers, experts on the subject: physicians, therapists, academic and independent researchers will offer their perspectives or illustrate how they apply these therapies in states where the use of psychedelic substances in clinical or experimental settings is permitted. Most of the speakers will present online, but live participation is particularly recommended and aimed at creating an Italian-based network that can coordinate in the future to solve the anachronistic lack of information and initiatives on the ground.
The underlying objective is to start up a network of health professionals and aspiring patients who can find themselves in a common line of action capable of enriching the Italian psychotherapeutic panorama, both from a clinical and scientific research point of view.
FPT22 therefore aims to provide the necessary information and open the debate to address questions such as:
Are there clinics offering psychedelic-assisted therapies in Europe?
How do they take place in practice? What approaches and strategies are applied?
What training courses are currently available for practitioners?
These are urgent questions for clinical practitioners and potential patients who recognise the current impotence in dealing with the increasing prevalence of depression (the world’s leading cause of disability), pathological addictions and other pathologies such as anorexia, seen as symptoms of our historical times.
This is why, considering also the launching of clinical trials in several European states (e.g. in Dublin for ketamine, in Berlin and London for psilocybin) we propose to critically address the state of the art in Italy. Specifically, the pragmatic objective of this event is to launch and promote research protocols and projects about psychotherapy involving psychedelics to foster holistic health activities (especially in, but not limited to, Italy).
Specifically, FPT22 is an event articulated in frontal interventions and round table discussions that is structured around three themes
– THE CLINICAL PRACTICE OF PSYCHEDELIC-ASSISTED THERAPY;
– STATE OF THE ART OF TODAY’S PSYCHEDELIC CLINICAL RESEARCH;
– OVERVIEWS OF CURRENT PSYCHEDELIC-ASSISTED THERAPY TRAINING.
